Alumni Hall of Fame member Joseph M. Field (192), founder of Entercom Communications, violinist and philanthropist, has donated the initial $10 million for a $42 million capital improvement campaign for Central High School. The centerpiece of the effort is a new two-story Performing Arts Center that will house its music and theater programs.

Joe entered Central High School 70 years ago to the words, “Enter to learn, go forth to serve,” Richard Prinz (212) told the gathering as he introduced Joe.

Read about the announcement, which was made Wednesday at Central, on Central’s web page.

Then watch the video of the news conference and be inspired by Mr. Field’s heart-felt message for students, fellow alumni and all believers in the power of education.
