A Message from HOF Committee Chair, George Mosee, 232

“The Hall of Fame Committee is honored to oversee the process for identifying well qualified Hall of Fame candidates for consideration by the AACHS Board of Managers. However, for us to ensure that the nominees reflect the diversity and excellence required to make them worthy of induction into the Hall of Fame, we all must contribute to the process. Please help us by nominating former Central students who achieved excellence in their field, created a better way, performed to the world’s delight or made a groundbreaking discovery while modelling character we’d want our children to emulate. Thank you.”

Voices of Legacy: AACHS Hall of Fame Inductees Reflect on Their Central Experience and the Significance of Their Induction

AACHS Hall of Fame Goes Digital!

“By 2020, forty-seven years worth of inductee plaques adorned the walls in the HOF corridor at Central. Unfortunately, the only way to view them was by visiting the school. This was not the only problem that existed. We were about to run out of wall space for the plaques, many of which needed repair and cleaning.

What to do ?

Due to similar plaque issues, my synagogue had introduced a digital interactive system that expanded and simplified the congregation’s access to digital information, including photos and biographies of congregants who had passed away. The system was an instant hit that struck me as a way to improve access to the HOF at Central and also to maintain and expand it. Therefore, I proposed to George D. Mosee Jr., Esq., 232, HOF Committee Chairperson, that we research a similar system for the school.

Subsequently, we interviewed representatives from several companies and chose Arreya to install the system and help us maintain it. Along the way, we managed to install the hardware at the school and shortly will have an ethernet connection.

While waiting for it, we have decided to “roll out” the extensive data that Stephen Klein, 229, collected and provided to Arreya who installed it; basically, this includes biographies, photos and additional links for
information on all 144 inductees since inception of the AACHS HOF in 1973.

For this purpose, we will use the school’s WiFi until the ethernet connection is available. At this time, we will have entered additional data, while making the digital interactive system available to all.

In the meantime, touch access will also be available at the school via the large LED hardware and Chrome browser. In order to “get the ball rolling,” we are providing the current URL to access digital information on HOF, to all alumni. Join us and watch it grow!”
