Central High School has been ranked the number two high school in Pennsylvania and number one in Philadelphia in a recent MoneyInc article highlighting the best high schools in the state. For Central alumni, this recognition should come as no surprise.

This ranking affirms what generations of graduates have always known: Central is more than a school. It is an experience that challenges, shapes, and stays with you long after graduation.

Since its founding in 1836, Central High School has stood as a pillar of public education in Philadelphia. Nearly two centuries of alumni share a common bond forged through academics, high expectations, and a culture that values intellect, innovation and pride in ones work.  Central does not simply educate students; it prepares them for the demands of college, careers, and civic life.

As alumni, we take special pride in seeing Central recognized on a statewide stage. This honor reflects not only the strength of the current student body and faculty, but also the enduring legacy built by the alumni who came before.

Central High School has had a huge role in shaping the best and brightest. This recognition confirms that its impact remains as strong.  For those who walked its hallow halls, this moment is a reminder that being part of Central is more than just graduating from high school, it is being part of a long and worthy legacy.
