In addition to the cast, so many students pariticpate in the play in meaningful behind the scene roles, Irene (285), a Stage Manager on the production, shared how meaningful this experience has been:
“Working on stage crew has given me opportunities I wouldn’t get anywhere else. I’m learning teamwork, collaboration, and how to work with a diverse group of students. I’m also gaining technical skills I’ll remember forever. When it all comes together on stage, it’s incredibly exciting.”
Investing in extracurricular programs helps students build confidence and a willingness to try new things. AACHS is committed to serving the whole student, ensuring every Lancer has the opportunity to pursue their interests, find their community, and discover their potential.
Members of the Urchin Crew—the narrators of the story, styled after a Motown group—echoed this sentiment. Claudia L. (285), an Urchin, shared,
“It is such a beautiful cast of people, and there is so much talent here at Central. Being part of the show impacts me because I am able to show off my creativity, which my classmates might not get to see otherwise.”
As Little Shop of Horrors reminds us, extraordinary things can grow in unexpected places. AACHS cultivates spaces where students can take creative risks, develop new skills, and shine—whether under the bright lights of the stage or behind the scenes making the magic happen. We are proud to invest in programs that nurture imagination, confidence, and community for every Lancer.
We invite you to join us for this year’s production of Little Shop of Horrors and experience the remarkable talent of our students as creativity takes root and blossoms beyond expectations.
