Dear Fellow Central Alum,
During the 55th reunion for the 228th class, I returned to Central for the first time in nearly 50 years. That visit inspired me to make my first meaningful gift to Central in many years, supporting the refurbishment of the gym floor – not exactly my favorite place during my Central days!
But walking through the school also opened my eyes to something much bigger: Central’s needs are significant, and so is the opportunity we have as alumni to help.
Like many of us, I have reached the age when I am required to take annual distributions from my retirement account. I chose to use a portion of mine to support Central’s Leading the Way Campaign, even though I had not previously been an annual donor to Central.
For those who are eligible, a Qualified Charitable Distribution from an IRA may be a meaningful way to make a gift to the Leading the Way Campaign while satisfying all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution. I encourage you to speak with your financial or tax advisor about whether this option is right for you.
I invite you to consider joining me with a gift to the campaign, within your own ability to give. The Leading the Way Campaign is an investment in Central’s future—expanding our campus, creating modern academic, STEM and performing arts spaces, and ensuring that generations of Central students continue to have the facilities and opportunities they need to learn, grow and succeed.
Central gave us a foundation. Now we have an opportunity to help build its future.
If you are interested but aren’t sure where to begin, Amelia Kuhn, AACHS Director of Development, would be happy to speak with you about the campaign and how to make your gift. You can reach her at amelia@centralhighalumni.com or 215-821-9806.
Join me.
