As the first-born child of a South Philadelphia Italian American family, Carlo J. DiMarco (229) enjoyed being a buddy and a teacher to his three younger brothers.
And he was a good example, having excelled in sciences at Central, running track and serving in student government. The three other brothers, Eugene (233), Claude (235) and Anthony (238), happily followed Carlo at Central and credit him with being one of their biggest supporters.
The family lost Carlo, a doctor of ophthalmology, suddenly at age 62 on Aug. 16. Family and friends paid loving tribute at a funeral Mass to a man they said “lived to serve his profession, loving what he practiced, always helping others.”
In addition to his brothers, Carlo is survived by his wife, Maria; two sons, Carlo and Stephen; and a daughter-in-law, Jessica.
