Central is seeking 15-20 alums with a passion for history to serve as judges on National History Day, Thursday Jan. 21.
National History Day consists of a contest to encourage students to develop a passion for history. Students use primary and secondary sources to create projects on specific topics of historical interest. These projects may include exhibitions, websites, documentaries, and performances.
Judges will evaluate projects based on a number of criteria, including historical quality, relation to theme, clarity of presentation, and rules compliance. Scoring rubrics will be provided. Winners of this competition will advance to the regional competition at the National Constitution Center.
The Jan. 21 competition in Central’s Spain conference Center will take place four times throughout the day: .8:30-9:30, 11:19-12:13, 12:16-1:10, and 2:10-3:04.
Please contact teacher Elliott Drago at elliott.drago@gmail.com if you are interested. Directions for judges will be distributed on the day of competition or ahead of time if judges desire.
Thank you.
