Today, we’re excited to shine the light on Nevena Bosnic, 266, a distinguished member of the AACHS Board of Managers and a current Strategy Manager at Deloitte Consulting in the Government and Public Services sector.

A Journey from Central to Consulting

Nevena’s career journey exemplifies the profound impact a Central High School education can have. As a Strategy Manager at Deloitte Consulting, Nevena provides strategic support to government clients in areas such as health, human services, housing, and anti-poverty. Her role is crucial in improving community access to and outcomes in public health and social programs.

Reflecting on her career, Nevena credits Central High School with laying the foundation for her success.

“Central High School provided me with a wealth of experiences and opportunities that were pivotal in shaping my future… The school’s rigorous academic curriculum, strong extracurricular programs, and respect for diversity and differences contributed deeply to my development and helped me maximize my potential – both personally and professionally.”

Giving Back to Central

Nevena’s gratitude for her Central experience is evident in her commitment to giving back. She joined the AACHS Board of Managers out of a deep appreciation for the school and a desire to ensure that future generations of students have access to similar opportunities.

“My passion for driving positive impact and giving back brought me back to AACHS because of its role in supporting students and creating opportunities that are otherwise unavailable,” she shares.

Her time at Central was marked by notable achievements, including participating in the orchestra, string ensemble, and field hockey team, as well as managing the girls’ softball team. One of her standout memories was traveling to Hungary with the orchestra and choir, an experience that left a lasting impression.

“The opportunity to learn from and meet student musicians in Budapest remains a top memory and experience,” Nevena recalls.

Encouraging Alumni Engagement

Nevena’s journey is a testament to the value of staying connected with Central High School. She encourages fellow alumni to get involved with the AACHS, regardless of their background or expertise.

“Reach out! The AACHS is comprised of alumni from diverse backgrounds who bring incredible perspectives and skills to the organization and to the school. We are all committed to continuing Central High School’s legacy. If you’d like to support in any way – whether it’s participating in Career Day or joining a committee – there is a place for you here.”

Looking to the Future

Nevena’s vision for Central High School is ambitious and inspiring. She hopes to see the school continue to be a beacon of learning and growth for Philadelphia’s youth, particularly those from underserved communities. She is also passionate about the ongoing efforts to enhance the school’s facilities through the Capital Campaign efforts to complete the Performing Arts Center and STEM Innovation Center Expansion and Renovation project.

“My hope is for the alumni community to come together – the way only Lancers know how – to make this dream a reality,” she says.
