Annua

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended and supported the 2025 AACHS Annual Reception.

It was a beautiful night of celebration with members joining us from the 202nd class through the 287th class

The event began with the 1836 Society Pinning Ceremony, where four new members were inducted. 1836 Society members were able to witness the remarkable work of the world champion RoboLancers who wowed us with their technical prowess with a live presentation of one of their award-winning robots.

Faculty, alumni, parents, and esteemed guests mingled as the dulcet tunes of Central’s talented string quartet, led by SBTL Benjamin Blazer, filled the air.

The program included remarks from CHS President Kate Davis (264), AACHS President DEL (235), student athlete Sofia M. (284) and keynote speaker Courtland C. Lee, Ph.D. (226) along with the induction of the newest slate of the AACHS Board of Managers, and unveiling of the portrait of 14th CHS President Timothy J. McKenna.

Dr. Lee’s remarks reminded us of the critical importance of honoring oneself and celebrating both the history and the future of all CHS students—a message that reflects his lifelong dedication to social justice, multicultural counseling, educational equity, and the empowerment of young people through his work as a scholar, counselor, and advocate.

We closed the program by recognizing six tremendous seniors nominated for the William M. Disharoon (133) Award—pictured below from left to right—Thomas N., Sofia D., Jayden V., Lily S., Ryan A., and Chikwendu O., all of the 284th class.

Disharoon Award Nominees 2025

The students nominated represented the diversity of talent at Central High School. The room lit up learning about their achievements and their plans to attend MIT and UPenn, among other top ivy league universities. Winner Jayden V. (284), will be attending Yale University majoring in study Ethics, Politics, and Economics with the goal to attend law school to become a social justice attorney.

AACHS could not have pulled off the annual event without the help of our superstar student interns: Emma , Jah’Nevaeh, Noa, Charlotte, Angelina, and Natalie—whose hard work and dedication ensured that everyone had a nametag and that the evening ran smoothly. Thank you to our photographers Annabel, Senya and Rachel whose pictures you see on this page.

Central High School would not be what it is today without the support and high spirit of its students, faculty, alumni, and the Home and School Association.

We look forward to welcoming you at a future event!
