218 61st Reunion
[This e-mail was sent in early 2022, so it includes some info that is no longer relevant for 61st reunion planning. The page will be updated when more details about the 2023 events are known. Thank you!]
We are beginning to feel we are destined to be the “+1″s of this world. Our 50th reunion became a 51st. And now, due to the resurgence of COVID, we are thinking that it would be best if we were to postpone our 60th reunion for a year, making it a 61st.
We are facing “on again, off again” restrictions on travel and restaurants. There could be more variants come spring. We don’t want you not coming because you are too worried about gatherings — as perhaps we all should be. Oh, and Central is still not even allowing visitors or volunteers into the building . . . and they are warning us about planning a reunion visit even in June, 2022.
So, gentlemen, please bear with us and reserve June 2nd and 3rd, 2023 for our reunion. We will still look to do a Friday lunch at Central in the conference center, followed by tours (and maybe even of the new performing arts addition that hopefully will have started construction by then). Then on Saturday we’ll have a nice get together meal at an easy-to-park-at location with great food. We will now have even more time to hear from you as to your preferences for the meal, e.g. sit down, buffet, or simply hors d’oeuvres . . . or a combination thereof.
NOTE: So that we aren’t totally “bummed out” by the postponement, we are going to arrange for a Zoom meeting on Friday, June 3, 2022 (the date of the original reunion) which will be open from 7-10 PM so that you can visit and chat and leave as you choose. We will send you all the link as the date approaches. Just stay tuned!
Please keep in touch and feel free to let us know your preferences.
Your Reunion Committee
If you already sent in a check, Barry will tear it up (if he doesn’t hear from you by January 10th) or return it (if he does hear from you and you want it returned.) Barry0772@aol.com
